Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated Wastewater Plant Operator to oversee pretreatment plant safety, operation, and maintenance. The role includes managing MBR/DAF equipment, electrical MCC, and various plant areas, with a focus on safe, compliant wastewater treatment.

The candidate will gain a Class III Wastewater Operator License within one year and contribute to thorough logs and reports while ensuring sanitation and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years’ experience in waste water management.
• 2+ years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Candidate will acquire Class III Wastewater Operator License within one year of hire.
• This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety, operation, housekeeping, and maintenance of the pretreatment plant.
• Manage the Screen room, Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) unit, Truck Bay, Pump room, Odor control, MCC, Retort Pond, WWTP outdoor areas, Tote cleaning, Chemical skids and Tank levels, Tank farm, and Blower room.
• Ensure safe and efficient wastewater treatment.
• Maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain daily logs, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Respond to safety incidents and emergencies according to established protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pretreatment plant and surrounding areas.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
