Job summary

Evonik is hiring an Environmental Operator to support Environmental Controls, Incineration Services, and Solvent Recovery in Lafayette, Indiana. The role involves operating and maintaining major process equipment, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

The position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass the WorkKeys assessment for the Tippecanoe Labs Chemical Operator position.

Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large, complex equipment (e.g. wastewater treatment plant, fume incinerators, distillation columns, bulk tanks, forklifts) following written instructions or training.
• Summarize observations and activities verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• Perform troubleshooting and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
• Maintain the work area in a state of cleanliness and safety.
• Adhere to environmental, health, safety, and security programs, rules, and procedures.
• Work well independently and in a team environment.
• Actively participate in safety and continuous improvement teams.
