Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for our Richmond, VA facility. You will support multiple projects, prepare samples, conduct analyses, and maintain clean, organized records under supervision.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime and a salary range of $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. You will work with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, mercury analyzers, and other lab instruments in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's in a scientific field preferred.
• 1–2 years of lab experience.
• Understanding of physical and chemical principles underlying methods used.
• Proficiency with MS Office and related software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis and reagents for lab use or shipment.
• Perform sample extractions and acid digestions.
• Determine volumes and prepare clean lab areas.
• Learn instrumentation (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, mercury analyzer, turbidity meter) and assist with analyses.
• Maintain organized records of sample prep and results.
• Support inventory of consumables, chemicals, and instrument parts.
• Comply with QA and Health & Safety plans.
• Assist Lab Leader or Director as needed.
