Job summary

Nucor Steel Gallatin is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead environmental programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen community relations in Ghent, KY. You will guide environmental systems operations and permits while driving safety and performance within the Environmental team.

Responsibilities include leading the division’s environmental activities, partnering with departments to pursue continuous improvement, and upholding safety standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• Three years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Environmental leadership experience and understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Experience with environmental permits, compliance standards, and agency relations.
• Understanding of baghouse and water systems operations and maintenance.
• General Manager recommendation is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead divisional safety and development efforts and execute the Sheet Mill Group strategy.
• Direct the division's environmental activities, including systems, permits, and agency relations.
• Oversee the Environmental team's safety, performance, and development.
• Collaborate with all departments to drive continuous improvement.

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Gallatin is seeking a leader for the position of Environmental Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Divisional leadership in achieving Nucor’s Mission through the safety and development of our team and the successful execution of the Sheet Mill Group strategy.
• Leading the division’s environmental activities, including environmental systems operations, permitting and compliance, relationships with state and federal environmental agencies, and community outreach.
• The safety, performance, and development of the Environmental team.
• Partnering with all departments to drive continuous improvement

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Three years of leadership experience
• Environmental leadership experience
• Experience with environmental regulations and compliance standards
• Understanding of baghouse and water systems operations and maintenance
• Must have a General Manager recommendation

• Three years of environmental leadership experience
• Experience with regulatory compliance and environmental permitting; local, state, and federal Government relations and stakeholder management
• Operations and Maintenance experience
