Isar Aerospace SE is seeking an Environmental Management Specialist to build and scale our environmental framework. You will own the EMS, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate permits across facilities and production activities.

You will lead audits, define KPIs, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with Legal, Engineering, and Procurement to embed environmental requirements into daily operations. English and German fluency are required for this role.

Qualificações

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering or comparable field.
• Several years of professional experience in environmental management or environmental compliance, ideally in manufacturing or technical environments.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and operational requirements.
• Experience with EMS (ISO 14001/EMAS).
• Experience with permitting, compliance assessments, audits or regulatory interactions.
• Ability to independently establish processes and structures.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, chemicals, or other regulated technical industries is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and continually improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) with processes, responsibilities, documentation, objectives, and controls.
• Identify and manage applicable environmental legal requirements; maintain a structured legal register and compliance evaluations.
• Coordinate environmental permits, notifications, and regulatory obligations with authorities.
• Manage environmental topics related to waste, water, emissions, hazardous substances, and resource consumption.
• Identify environmental aspects, impacts and risks; establish mitigation and monitoring measures.
• Plan and perform environmental audits, inspections, and corrective actions; develop KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Support the establishment of consistent environmental standards across locations and future sites.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Production Execution, Legal, Engineering, Procurement and others to integrate environmental requirements into daily operations.

Mission Brief

As Environmental Management Specialist, you will play a key role in building our environmental management framework from the ground up. Your mission is to establish robust processes for environmental compliance and operational environmental management that can scale with our company, sites, and production activities.

You will take ownership of core environmental management topics and help transform individual requirements into a structured and systematic Environmental Management System.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

• Environmental Management System: Develop, implement, and continuously improve our Environmental Management System, including processes, responsibilities, documentation, objectives, and controls.
• Environmental Compliance: Identify, assess, and manage applicable environmental legal and regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain a structured environmental legal register and compliance evaluation process.
• Permits & Regulatory Requirements: Coordinate environmental permits, notifications, and regulatory obligations and support communication with relevant authorities.
• Operations: Manage environmental topics related to waste, water, emissions, hazardous substances, resource consumption, and other environmental aspects.
• Environmental Risk Management: Identify and assess environmental aspects, impacts, risks, and opportunities and establish appropriate mitigation and monitoring measures.
• Audits & Performance: Plan and perform environmental audits, inspections, compliance assessments, and corrective actions. Develop environmental KPIs and support continuous performance improvement.
• Global Environmental Framework: Support the establishment of consistent environmental standards and processes across different company locations and future sites.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Infrastructure, Production Execution, Legal, Engineering, Procurement and other departments to integrate environmental requirements into daily operations.

Qualification Checklist

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering or a comparable field.
• Several years of professional experience in environmental management or environmental compliance, ideally within a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and operational environmental requirements.
• Practical experience with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 and/ or EMAS).
• Experience with environmental permitting, compliance assessments, audits or regulatory interactions.
• Ability to independently establish processes and structures.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Confident communication style and ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.
• Solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on ensuring environmental compliance.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, chemicals, or another highly regulated technical industry is a plus.
