Job summary

Washington State Attorney General's Office Environmental Protection Division seeks an Attorney to litigate significant environmental cases in a fast-paced environment. You will lead and co-lead investigations, manage discovery, and advance environmental protections for Washingtonians.

Preferred candidates have at least two years of civil litigation experience, strong writing, and a commitment to public service and diversity.

Qualifications

• Two years of civil litigation experience preferred.
• Ability to foster teamwork and promote an inclusive environment.
• Experience with discovery and motions practice.

Responsibilities

• Litigate affirmative civil environmental cases addressing public health and environmental problems.
• Direct and assist in investigations and case development with creative strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions and memoranda from filing through post-judgment proceedings.
• Develop federal administrative matters, including comments on rulemakings and challenges.
• Represent AGO in public settings on sensitive matters; handle discovery, motions, trials and appeals.
