Job summary

Orange County Sanitation District seeks an Environmental Supervisor (Operational Microbiology and Chemistry) to lead the environmental sciences laboratory section, overseeing microbiology and chemistry analyses of wastewater and related samples while ensuring safety, QA, and regulatory compliance.

You will manage staff, coordinate budgets, mentor team, and serve as a technical resource, coordinating with regulatory agencies and OC San leadership to support mission-critical operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science field.
• Six years of progressive environmental/lab experience.
• California Class C Driver's License.
• Experience in supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff in the environmental lab sections.
• Leads the group responsible for operational microbiology and chemistry analyses of wastewater and related samples.
• Manages budgets, resources, and project timelines; coordinates with leadership and other divisions.
• Ensures safety, QA, and regulatory compliance across the lab operations.
