Job summary

Pace, a leader in environmental testing, is seeking a Scientist 1 for our Peoria, IL laboratory. This full-time, on-site role involves using GC, HPLC, and ICP to analyze air, water, and soil samples and to document results.

You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry and work safely with PPE in a busy lab. Pace offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other science related degrees.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods looking for environmental contaminants
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment
