Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation is seeking a Lab Analyst in Appleton, WI to prepare and analyze environmental samples under EPA regulations and GLP guidelines. The role supports accurate, timely laboratory results and maintains QA/QC standards in a onsite setting.

Responsibilities include sample prep, chemical analyses with GC, GC/MS, ICP, AA, and data systems, plus instrument maintenance and documentation. Candidates should have 3+ years lab experience and strong data analysis abilities.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience.
• Strong mathematical and data analysis skills.
• Attention to detail with accurate data recording.
• Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples using standard techniques including acidification, digestion, aliquoting, and weighing.
• Conduct chemical analyses using approved laboratory methods and instrumentation.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and calibration solutions to support accurate instrument performance.
• Calculate, record, and report analytical data with documentation of irregularities or deviations.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Maintain QA/QC standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements; follow GLP.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Operate and develop expertise in GC, GC/MS, Purge and Trap, AA, ICP, and laboratory data systems.
• Complete all work in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
• Support additional laboratory duties as assigned.
