Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) in Earth City, MO is hiring an Analyst I to prepare and analyze environmental samples using standard analytical techniques in accordance with EPA methods and Eurofins QA programs. This is a full-time, year-round position on the 1st shift, Tuesday through Saturday, with competitive pay and benefits.

Compensation ranges from $18 to $20 per hour DOE, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience.
• Experience in an environmental lab is a plus.
• 1–2 years preparation or analytical experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills and ability to relate to others.
• Commitment to quality, service and safety procedures.
• Sound reasoning, good judgment and decision making.
• Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
• Versatility and flexibility when dealing with people.
• Ability to synthesize and retain information.
• Computer skills, LIMs software a plus.
• Basic math skills including multiplication, division and algebra.
• Work independently and within time constraints.
• Must lift up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Proficient reading, writing and speaking English.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

• Performs chemical analysis using standard techniques
• Calculates data
• Records and reports data and unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
• Performs routine instrument maintenance
• Complies with EHS and QA standards
• Maintains general housekeeping in the work area
• Learns complex instrumentation including GC, GC/MS, AAS, ICP
• Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods
• Aliquots and weighs samples
• Washes glassware
• Conducts all activities safely and efficiently
• Performs other duties as assigned
