Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an Environmental Intern to support Aggregates and Ready-Mix operations across multiple Western PA sites. You will gain hands-on experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, and continuous improvement while collaborating with environmental and operational professionals.

The role emphasizes data collection, reporting, field assessments, and implementing best practices to support regulatory requirements and emissions reduction.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Natural Resources, Geology, or related field.
• Interest in environmental compliance, sustainability, and industrial or construction materials operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration across levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist environmental compliance activities, inspections, audits, and documentation across aggregates and ready-mix operations.
• Support environmental data collection, analysis, reporting, and recordkeeping for permits and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with operations teams to identify opportunities for environmental improvements and best practices.
• Participate in site visits and field assessments to monitor environmental performance and support corrective actions.
• Contribute to environmental projects focused on compliance, resource conservation, emissions reduction, or efficiency.
