Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an Environmental Intern to support our Construction Materials operations in upstate New York. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will assist with regulatory compliance, data collection, and environmental stewardship across multiple locations.

This hands-on internship offers exposure to site inspections, data reporting, and sustainability projects, helping you develop practical skills in a real-world industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in environmental science or related field and at least sophomore standing.
• Interest in environmental compliance and sustainability in industrial operations.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with colleagues at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning data systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental compliance activities, inspections, audits, and documentation.
• Support data collection, analysis, reporting, and recordkeeping for permits and sustainability programs.
• Collaborate with operations to identify environmental improvements and best practices.
• Participate in site visits and field assessments to monitor performance and support corrective actions.
• Contribute to projects focused on compliance, resource conservation, or emissions reduction.
