Job summary

Triton Environmental Consultants, Ltd. seeks an Environmental Intern for Summer 2027 at our Assumption, IL headquarters. This paid, full-time internship runs May 26–July 30, onsite, with 40 hours per week.

Expect to conduct regulatory audits, support compliance programs, and develop environmental training and written programs. Ideal candidates are enrolled full-time in an environmental, health and safety program (engineering preferred), with strong communication skills and proficiency in MS

• Enrollment in a degree program in environmental, health and safety or a related field (engineering preferred).
• Must be a registered full-time student.
• Must be able to commute to Assumption, IL daily.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Job description

We are seeking a highly talented Environmental Intern to join our EHS team at our Assumption, Illinois headquarters for the Summer of 2027.

This is a paid, full-time internship during the summer. Students are required to work 40 hours per week onsite at our office in Assumption from tentatively Wednesday, May 26^th through Friday, July 30^th (dependent upon summer housing dates, could start earlier and/or end later).

Your Impact

• Conduct regulatory environmental audits
• Support environmental compliance programs
• Develop and implement various written environmental programs
• Review and develop specific training programs
• Support Industrial Hygiene Studies
• Identify environmental risks and opportunities for improvement as well as cost savings

Your Experience and Qualifications

• Enrollment in a degree program on environmental, health and safety or related field, preferably in engineering.
• Must be registered as a full-time student
• Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Preferably have completed one or more internships and/or have working experience (e.g. part time job)
• Reliable transportation to and from the internship location

Your Compensation and Benefits

Expected hourly wage for this role will be $20 – 22 / hour. This is dependent upon year in school.

Benefits will include complimentary housing located at The Woods housing complex at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, approximately 30 minutes from the internship location.
