Job summary

Goochland County is seeking an Inspector to review commercial and residential projects for Plan of Development compliance and erosion control standards in Central Virginia. You’ll inspect sites, interpret plans, and ensure adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities include issuing reports with corrective actions, collaborating with contractors, and maintaining knowledge of environmental rules. A Virginia DEQ certification within 12 months is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, biology, civil engineering, or related field.
• Experience in environmental or construction inspections, land development, or related work.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of commercial and residential projects for compliance with approved plans and Erosion & Sediment Control requirements.
• Interprets plans and drawings, and inspects construction sites for adherence to approved specifications.
• Issues inspection reports with corrective actions and timelines, and coordinates with contractors to resolve issues.
