Job summary

Buckner International is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for Camp Buckner in Burnet, TX. This full-time role focuses on maintaining clean, sanitized guest and common areas to Buckner’s hospitality standards.

The position requires readiness to perform light repairs, assist with event setups, and support retreats and conferences. The ideal candidate reads and speaks English proficiently, may know Spanish, and has mechanical aptitude, with basic tool use and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently for job duties.
• Mechanical aptitude and safe use of basic tools.
• Ability to learn basic repairs on furnishings and equipment.
• Organizational skills and checklist development.
• Safety coordination within the housekeeping team.
• Willingness to coordinate with supervisor and facilities director.
• Ability to work before/after hours, weekends, and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive Buckner vehicles with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Housekeeping Supervisor on retreat schedules and guest service needs.
• Clean and prepare cabins, lodge rooms, offices, and meeting spaces.
• Perform minor repairs, replace bulbs, adjust curtains, fix fixtures as needed.
• Complete room checklists and report issues needing repair.
• Use provided tools and training to complete tasks safely.
• Assist with moving furniture, setup for events, and equipment handling.
• Provide housekeeping and operational support for retreats and conferences.
• Document work accurately and on time.
• Identify unsafe situations and report concerns immediately.
• Respond to information requests and communicate with supervisor.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by supervisor and assist other departments.
• Identify conditions that could cause accidents and contribute to a safe environment.
