Job summary

Buckner is seeking a Housekeeper at Camp Buckner in Burnet, TX, onsite. You will keep cabins, lodge rooms, and common areas clean, sanitized, and well-organized to meet Buckner’s hospitality standards. The role includes helping with retreats and events and collaborating with the Facilities Director.

The position requires English proficiency, basic repairs, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. A valid driver’s license and MS Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes, speaks and understands English sufficiently for duties.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred for communicating with clients and families.
• Mechanical aptitude to safely use hand/power tools.
• Learn basic repairs on common furnishings and equipment.
• Organizational skills for checklists, records and inventory control.
• Environmental Services Technician acts as safety coordinator.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping Supervisor and Facilities Director.
• Ability to work before/after hours, weekends as needed and respond to calls.
• Valid driver's license; insurance and ability to rent vehicles domestically/internationally; age 21+.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor on retreat schedules and guest service needs.
• Complete minor building repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Perform room and building checks and report issues.
• Use provided tools and training to complete tasks safely.
• Assist with cleaning, setting up and taking down furniture and equipment.
• Provide housekeeping and operational support for events.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report to supervisor.
• Respond to information requests and communicate concerns.
• Carry out tasks like cleaning, climbing ladders, moving beds, and setup of rooms.
• Identify conditions that could cause injuries and report them.
• Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming environment across the campus.
