Job summary

MDH Talbot County Health Department seeks an Environmental Health Specialist Trainee to assist in promoting environmental health and enforcing state and local laws. This is a full-time role based in Easton, MD, designed to support the public health mission and hands-on compliance work.

You will monitor delegated programs, facilitate permits on PatTrac/OpenGov, help modernize records, and contribute to protecting water, food, and the environment for Talbot County residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Education and licensing requirements determined by Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists.

Responsibilities

• Assist in promoting environmental health while enforcing state and local Environmental Health laws and regulations.
• Monitor delegated programs from the Maryland Department of the Environment and the Maryland Department of Health to the Talbot County Health Department's Office of Environmental Health.
• View and interact with permits on PatTrac/OpenGov and modernization of records.
• Support the mission to promote and improve health and safety by ensuring cleanliness and safety of the environment, water and food.
