Qualifications

• Knowledge of biology, epidemiology, chemistry, mathematics, and statistics.
• Ability to interpret complex federal, state and local environmental health policies and regulations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to work with the public and resolve conflict.
• Experience preparing documentation and reports of regulatory activities.
• Valid State Driver's License required.
• Experience in environmental health or background as an Environmental Health Associate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee onsite sewage and private well program oversight in the Central Virginia Health District.
• Contribute to rabies prevention initiatives, and manage campgrounds and marinas programs.
• Travel within the district as needed to fulfill responsibilities.
