Job description

GRADE STD0021 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Washington County Health Department, Hagerstown, MD. The main purpose of this position is to manage, direct, and function as the Deputy Director for the Washington County Health Department’s Environmental Health Program for the protection of the public health through an effective regulatory, inspection, and education program.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Environmental Sanitarians under the certificate of eligibility requirements for Environmental Sanitarians.

Experience: Five years of experience performing inspections and investigations in the field of environmental health to ensure compliance including two years in a supervisory capacity.

Notes

• Candidates may substitute possession of a Master of Public Health or Master of Science degree from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Environmental Engineering classifications or Environmental Engineering specialty codes in the Engineering and Natural Resources field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
