Job summary

Emerson in Mansfield, MA is seeking a student for an Environmental Health & Safety internship/co-op. You will support updates to safety programs, perform safety surveys, and assist in continuous improvement of safety processes under the Site ESH Manager’s guidance.

You must be an enrolled student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in safety-related fields; preferred candidates have coursework in construction safety and a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

If you are a student interested in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Mansfield, Ma location, you will complete activities such as Departmental/Tooling Inspections, Job Safety Analysis, Safety Observations, Ergonomic Assessments, SDS Inventory/Chemical Assessments, LOTO Program and other related projects.

IN THIS ROLE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

• Review and support the updates to a variety of formal safety programs (i.e., Lockout, Fall Protection, GHS)
• Perform safety surveys and engage employees in their work
• Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement of safety processes
• Assist and lead projects under the supervision of the Site ESH Manager

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

• Completed coursework in construction safety
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 GPA or higher
• Sophomore or higher-class status
• Previous related co-op/intern experience in safety (corporate or manufacturing environment)
