  • Strong understanding of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and EPA requirements.
  • Experience with EHS management systems, data analysis, and Microsoft Office tools.

Position Overview

Siemens Mobility is seeking a driven Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to support and strengthen a strong safety culture at its Sacramento Light Passenger Rail and Locomotive manufacturing facility. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify workplace hazards, manage operational risks, and ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.

This is a highly visible, on-site role across the manufacturing campus, where you will actively support day-to-day EHS operations while contributing to continuous improvement of EHS systems, programs, and processes. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, collaborative problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence safe behaviors through effective communication.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
EHS Program Implementation & Compliance
  • Support and enhance Siemens Mobility EHS programs while ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and related regulations.
  • Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments across operational areas.
  • Review new equipment installations and project activities for environmental, health, and safety impacts, providing recommendations where necessary.
Hazard Identification & Risk Management
  • Collaborate with teams to proactively identify workplace hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Develop, track, and close corrective actions while supporting Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments.
  • Provide hands‑on coaching to employees on the shop floor to reinforce safe work practices.
Incident Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure timely documentation, corrective action tracking, and closure.
  • Analyze EHS performance data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and key safety metrics.
  • Support ongoing efforts to improve EHS programs and overall safety performance.
To Thrive in This Role, You Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive EHS experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably in heavy manufacturing or rolling stock sectors.
  • Professional certification such as ASP, CSP, or CHST (or ability to obtain within 12 months of joining).
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with EHS management systems, data analysis, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Regular use of stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms.
  • Ability to perform overhead work and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Full-time on-site role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in non-climate-controlled and outdoor conditions when required.
