Sheakley Workforce Staffing is evaluating a 6-month Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager position in Danville, VA. This 1099 contractor role offers weekly pay at $59/hr with a $150/month completion bonus and a path to full-time leadership based on performance.

The role focuses on overseeing environmental compliance programs, safety initiatives, audits, and continuous EHS improvements within a tire manufacturing facility, coordinating with operations leadership.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or similar plant environments.
  • Experience with environmental regulatory compliance in manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards (1910).
  • Experience with environmental reporting, compliance management and recordkeeping.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, inspections, calendars, sampling and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental compliance requirements, inspections, deadlines and reporting obligations.
  • Support Title V air compliance including emissions monitoring and CAM requirements.
  • Maintain environmental compliance tracking spreadsheets and regulatory records.
  • Oversee hazardous waste programs including storage, inspections and documentation.
  • Coordinate stormwater inspections, sampling and SWPPP compliance activities.
  • Coordinate wastewater sampling, data collection and recordkeeping.
  • Manage refrigerant, CFC, and ODS compliance programs and documentation.
  • Coordinate environmental vendors, laboratories, contractors and operations leadership.
  • Support OSHA General Industry compliance and guidance to onsite safety personnel.
  • Identify compliance deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed and documented.
  • Prepare for environmental inspections, audits and internal reviews.
  • Maintain organized records supporting regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Location: Danville, VA
Duration: 6 Months (Immediate Need)
Type: 1099 Contractor with Opportunity for Full-Time Conversion

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $59/hr
Per Diem: None
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM / 5:00 PM | 40-50 Hours Per Week

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7+ Years of EHS Experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, Automotive, or Similar Plant Environments
  • Demonstrated Experience with Environmental Regulatory Compliance in Manufacturing Facilities
  • Strong Working Knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards (1910)
  • Experience with Environmental Reporting, Compliance Management, and Regulatory Recordkeeping
  • Experience Coordinating Contractors, Inspections, Compliance Calendars, Environmental Sampling, and Corrective Actions
Direct Experience with Several of the Following:
  • Title V Air Permitting & Emissions Compliance
  • Hazardous Waste / RCRA Compliance
  • Stormwater Programs & SWPPP Management
  • Wastewater Compliance Programs
  • Refrigerant / CFC / ODS Compliance
  • Environmental Sampling & Monitoring
  • Environmental Regulatory Reporting & Recordkeeping
Preferred Qualifications
  • CSP, ASP, CHMM, OSHA 511, HAZWOPER, or Comparable EHS Credentials
  • Tire Manufacturing Experience
  • Automotive Manufacturing Experience
  • Industrial Environmental Compliance Leadership Experience
  • Air Quality & Emissions Compliance Experience
  • Multi-Permit Facility Management Experience
What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage and track environmental compliance requirements, inspections, deadlines, and reporting obligations
  • Support Title V air compliance including emissions monitoring, GHG calculations, fuel usage tracking, CAM requirements, and control-device inspections
  • Maintain environmental compliance tracking spreadsheets, regulatory records, and supporting documentation
  • Oversee hazardous waste compliance programs including storage areas, inspections, shipment documentation, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate stormwater inspections, sampling, outfall monitoring, laboratory testing, and SWPPP compliance activities
  • Coordinate wastewater compliance activities including sampling, flow-meter calibration, data collection, and recordkeeping
  • Manage refrigerant, CFC, and ODS compliance programs including inventories, leak inspections, and service documentation
  • Coordinate environmental vendors, laboratories, contractors, maintenance personnel, and operations leadership
  • Support OSHA General Industry compliance and provide guidance to onsite safety personnel
  • Identify compliance deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed and documented
  • Prepare for environmental inspections, audits, and internal reviews
  • Maintain organized records supporting regulatory compliance and audit readiness
