Job summary

Siemens Environmental Health & Safety Internship is based at our Raleigh, North Carolina office. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution safety programs and EHS initiatives within a collaborative, impact-driven environment.

The role runs May or June 2027 for 12 weeks, on-site full-time (40 hours/week). Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, with US work authorization and no sponsorship needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in Environmental Health & Safety or related field and nearing completion.
• Knowledge of safety or environmental regulations and compliance.
• Ability to work on-site full time (40 hours/week) for 12-week internship.

Responsibilities

• Support improvements to job safety analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments.
• Assist with incident reviews, near misses, and safety suggestions.
• Support hazardous materials, hazardous waste, and universal waste management activities.
• Conduct EHS onboarding training for new hires and promote safety culture.
• Assist ISO management systems, 6S initiatives, EHS projects, and regulatory compliance activities.

As an intern with the Electrification and Automation (EA) division of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow - all within a collaborative, impact-driven environment.

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Environmental Health & Safety Internship beginning in May or June 2027. This position will be based at our Raleigh, North Carolina office location.

You’ll make an impact by:

• Supporting improvements to job safety analyses (JSAs), risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and emergency response programs.
• Performing floor walks and supporting the review and follow-up of incidents, near misses, and employee safety suggestions.
• Supporting hazardous materials, hazardous waste, and universal waste management activities.
• Conducting EHS onboarding training for new hires and supporting safety culture and employee engagement initiatives.
• Supporting ISO management systems, 6S initiatives, EHS projects, and regulatory compliance activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field and approaching completion of the required educational credentials for this opportunity.
• Knowledge of safety or environmental regulations and compliance.
• Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
• Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
• This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of risk assessment, process improvement, incident investigation, data analytics, training development, or cross-functional project management.
• Experience related to safety or environmental programs, regulations, or compliance activities.
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge related to safety and environmental functions.
