Job summary

Walworth County seeks an Environmental Health Coordinator to lead the day-to-day Environmental Health program, supervise two specialists, and guide staff development. You will coordinate activities, ensure timely reporting for funding, and ensure compliance with state statutes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or closely related field and three years of professional experience in program coordination/leadership.
• Minimum of 1 year analytical laboratory experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Act as program coordinator over assigned areas and develop objectives with measurable deliverables.
• Ensure required reports for funding sources are completed and provided to Health Officer on time.
• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, training, certification, scheduling, and state regulatory compliance.
• Develop partnerships and coordinate efforts to improve environmental health outcomes.
• Lead interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and oversight of staff and interns.
• Support county safety and alignment with Public Health Core Competencies.
