Job summary

East Hanover Township is seeking a qualified Environmental Health Specialist to enforce sanitary, environmental, and public health laws within the township and state. You will conduct inspections, investigations, and educational outreach, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

The role requires active NJ REHS licensure, a valid NJ driver's license, and strong skills in reporting, planning, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections to enforce sanitary and health laws under local/state regulations.
• Investigate nuisances and violations, determine causes and take corrective action.
• Plan and conduct health inspections and investigations, provide technical guidance to ensure compliance.
• Prepare reports and maintain records; review environmental health policy and implement requirements.
• Review and may approve plans for residential, commercial, and industrial development to ensure compliance.
• Perform other duties or special projects as needed.
