Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science from an accredited university.
• 4 years of supervisory experience in environmental or public health.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Texas Food Establishment rules and 30 TAC Ch. 285.
• Registered Sanitarian or eligible; DR for OSSF within 9 months; pool operator within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise staff in Food Service, OSSF and General Nuisance programs.
• Review blueprints/designs and permit applications for plan reviews.
• Perform and supervise inspections of food service establishments and OSSFs.
• Prepare departmental reports and coordinate with contracted workforce.
• Liaise with Public Infrastructure Steering Committee and other departments.
• Assist in strategic planning and emergency management activities.
