Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of professional or technical experience in environmental public health or code enforcement.
  • Knowledge of environmental health and code enforcement concepts.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply legal provisions and guidelines.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must complete required NIMS level training within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site audits, reviews, and inspections to enforce statutes, ordinances, rules and policies.
  • Investigate complaints and determine violations; issue citations when warranted.
  • Document and prepare reports; provide information to the public and organizations.
  • Provide testimony in legal proceedings and coordinate corrective actions.
