Qualifications

• Citizenship or legal work authorization in the United States.
• High School diploma or GED; minimum one year of relevant experience.
• Missouri Driver’s License required.
• ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification (64) or obtain within six months.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use databases and mobile devices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally more than 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and investigations to verify compliance with City ordinances and property maintenance standards.
• Perform inspections on non-owner occupied properties.
• Investigate concerns related to ordinance and code violations, issue notices to property owners, and ensure compliance through follow-up inspections.
• Perform inspections for certain permits.
• Recommend prosecution of code violators and provide court testimony on behalf of the City.
