Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company in Carol Stream, IL is seeking an Environmental Health Technician to support facility monitoring and compliance. You will perform environmental monitoring, coordinate bioassay programs, and manage waste collection and disposal according to IEMA and EPA guidelines.

You will calibrate dose and monitoring instruments, prepare routine and non-routine reports, and assist with inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate collection, segregation, storage, and disposal of produced waste
• Responsible for control and calibration of all dose, count rate and monitoring instrumentation
• Prepare necessary routine and non-routine IEMA, DOT and EPA reports
• Assist in IEMA facility inspections and required responses
• Follow Quality Systems Regulations and established procedures

• Responsible for control and calibration of all dose, count rate and monitoring instrumentation
• Prepare necessary routine and non-routine IEMA, DOT and EPA reports
• Perform investigations associated with the following:
• Product complaints
• Corrective and preventative action projects
• Product and process improvement projects
• Sealed source inventory discrepancies
• Personnel or facility contamination incidents
• Assist in IEMA facility inspections and required responses
• Working knowledge of IEMA license requirements
• Understand and follow the established corporate safety standards, local facility operating procedures and safety policies
• Follow Quality Systems Regulations and established procedures
• Recycling
• Other duties as assigned
