Becton, Dickinson and Company in Irvine, CA is seeking a Lab/Engineering Technician to gather and analyze technical data, support test protocols, and develop prototypes. You will create flow charts, schematics, and reports while collaborating with engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with lab experience, or equivalent technician experience in a regulated environment, and the ability to work in a team with strong documentation skills.

Job Description Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
• Produces engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics).
• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
• Provides completion of technical tasks.
• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications.
• Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance.
• Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project.
• Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups.
• Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing.
• Trains and mentors junior team members on lab procedures and equipment use.
• Effectively documents and communicates test results.
• Supports hardware debugging.

Minimum Requirement:

• Minimum education requirement is Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering and at least 1 year experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) Or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 3 years, experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures.
• The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members.
• Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Proficiency in personal computers.
• Ability to train lower-level technicians.

Our salary or hourly rate ranges reward associates fairly and competitively. We regularly review these ranges and factors, such as location, contribute to the range displayed Our pay is based on the role and the necessary skills and education to perform it successfully. The salary or hourly rate offered is determined by the role's specific requirements, including any applicable step rate pay system at the work location.

Salary Range Information $105,500.00 - $168,800.00 USD Annual
