Job description

As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and contributing to sustainable manufacturing practices.
Your expertise will directly impact our commitment to producing high-quality electronic products while safeguarding the health of our employees and the environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct environmental audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals used in the facility.
  • Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of hazardous materials.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure correct use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide training to employees on PPE requirements and safety procedures.
  • Monitor workplace conditions to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Perform routine environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of environmental reports as required.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, inspections, and compliance activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
  • Stay informed about changes in EHS regulations and ensure the facility's compliance.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
  • Assist in preparing regulatory reports and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit required information to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS), including hazardous materials business plans, site maps, and chemical inventories.
  • Ensure all CERS submissions are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Develop and maintain an annotated site map meeting the requirements of California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.95, Section 25505(a)(2).
  • Provide leadership and support the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety compliance programs for the plant.
  • Ensure plant employees are properly trained on all EHS procedures and policies.
  • Maintain records for EHS regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of DART (Days Away, Restricted or Transferred) reporting.
  • Understanding of net zero emission requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of California environmental and Cal/OSHA regulations is highly preferred.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience.
  • Fluency as a Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA).

This position is 100% onsite. The expected salary range in California is $115,000-$130,000 annually, depending on skills and experience.
