Job description

This position is responsible for all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, activities, and control measures at the manufacturing facility. The EHS Manager develops and maintains a culture that promotes continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental standards. The role ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations at federal, state, and local levels. It also involves coordinating safety training and activities related to regulated programs, including OSHA and the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).


Additional Information

Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm (flexible schedule to support 24/7 operations)

Travel: 15%

This position covers both South Holland and Homewood, IL sites.

Eligible for bonus and long-term incentive awards based on performance, according to company plans.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of EHS-related work experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal training or 1+ year experience in continuous improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Leadership experience supervising teams for at least 1 year
  • Experience working in manufacturing or distribution facilities
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or Business
  • Experience leading or participating in OSHA VPP audits and maintaining VPP status
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver safety and health training programs
  • Coordinate site EHS training activities
  • Support safety committees
  • Manage the EHS Management System
  • Conduct inspections, investigations, and analyses to prevent accidents and environmental incidents
  • Integrate risk control measures into daily operations
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations
  • Prepare reports and audits for management
  • Develop plans to achieve or maintain OSHA VPP STAR status
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and related procedures
  • Serve as liaison with federal, state, and local enforcement agencies
  • Coordinate with EHS divisional and corporate support teams
  • Promote a positive safety culture through proactive engagement and presence on the floor
