Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a dedicated Environmental Health & Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of EH&S programs. You will develop policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead efforts to protect employees and the environment at our Boston-area campus.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Environmental Health or related field, 3–5 years of EH&S experience (with supervisory duties preferred), and strong analytical and communication skills to train staff and drive

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of environmental health and safety experience required.
  • Supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage EH&S programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify workplace hazards.
  • Analyze processes to develop effective control measures.
  • Develop and deliver training on EH&S policies and safe practices.
  • Establish incident management, reporting, investigation, and corrective action.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on emergency communication and response.
  • Track KPIs and drive continuous safety improvements.

NoEssential Functions:-Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.-Develop and implement comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures.-Conduct thorough risk assessments and identify workplace hazards related to environmental, health, and safety.-Analyze work processes, equipment, and facilities to identify potential risks and develop effective control measures.-Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on policies, procedures, and safe work practices.-Establish and oversee incident management protocols, including reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes.-Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective emergency communication, evacuation procedures, and response to hazardous incidents.-Develop and implement environmental management programs to minimize the organization's environmental impact.-Track and report key performance indicators, such as incident rates, compliance status, training completion, and corrective actions.QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree Environmental Health required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoExperienceEnvironmental Health/Safety Experience 3-5 years required and Supervisory/Management Experience 2-3 years preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.- Proven leadership in environmental health and safety management or a related field and the ability to lead staff.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to effectively train and educate employees on environmental, health, and safety topics.- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.Additional Job Details (if applicable)The posted salary reflects the starting range for this position.
