Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join the Reflective Business at our Painesville, OH Building 7 site. In this role, you will participate on the Plant Leadership Team and report to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for coordinating and controlling the EHS functions of the site to ensure effective accident prevention, compliance with regulations, and the development of safety programs.

What you will be doing:

1. Lead EHS programs including Hazcom, PSM, RCRA, Title V, stormwater, hearing conservation, LOTO, machine guarding, TRI reporting, and employee participation programs. Maintain OSHA logs and other records.
2. Develop, implement, and supervise EHS education and training programs.
3. Investigate releases, injuries, and near-misses; review incident data; and drive behavioral safety improvements.
4. Perform risk assessments, identify hazards, and develop control practices. Lead Job Safety Analysis and PPE compliance.
5. Maintain compliance records, reports, and permits; review regulation changes impacting permits.
6. Ensure safety program compliance through audits and risk assessments of machinery and working conditions.
7. Advise and audit front-line leadership on EHS implementation.
8. Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and lead safety teams.
9. Assist with emergency plans and participate in the Corporate EHS Network.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical, Environmental Engineering/Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of EHS leadership experience; professional EHS certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
• Knowledge of industrial safety, OSHA, NFPA, Hazcom/GHS, and industrial hygiene.
• Project and problem resolution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and coaching skills.
