An established industry player seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to lead campus-wide safety initiatives. Position Title: Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

Reports to: Associate VP of Operations/CIO
Salary Range: Starting salary is budgeted between $58,024 to $72,000
Weeks Per Year: 52
Work Week: 40 hours (minimum)
Position Summary: Assumes responsibility for identification, development and management of campus-wide operational plans designed to ensure the safety and health of all employees, students, and visitors to the University of Hartford. Develops health and safety plans and projects, conducts safety trainings, investigates accidents and hazards, and recommends corrective actions to reduce and/or eliminate potential risks. Performs periodic comprehensive inspections of the campus and equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.
Normal Office Situation. Requires extensive safety training and/or protective devices. Regular exposure to moving machinery, infectious materials, and varying weather conditions. Requires travel, including overnight stays.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Typically involves sitting, standing, walking, and heavy lifting (51 lbs or more).
The ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
