Job summary

The Vertex Companies, LLC seeks a Geologist to perform Phase I ESAs and Phase II investigations across the region, with frequent travel especially in the Houston area. You will support environmental due diligence for client projects.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality reports, coordinate field activities, and contribute to proposals and cost estimates. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years experience, or 5 years experience with no degree.
• Experience conducting ASTM Phase I ESAs and Phase II investigations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Willingness to travel frequently for field assignments; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I ESAs and Phase II subsurface investigations.
• Oversee environmental drilling and sampling with subcontractors.
• Prepare client-facing technical reports with findings and recommendations.
• Develop proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate project activities to ensure safety, schedule, and budget.
• Travel to client sites across the region.
