Job summary

Onterris is seeking an Environmental Field Technician - Stack to collect data outdoors and support stack testing to verify emissions compliance. This role offers growth opportunities, overtime potential, and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Record test data ensuring datasheets are complete and accurate.
• Set up monitoring equipment on a smokestack.
• Project preparation including glassware preparation, cleaning procedures, repair, calibration, and fabrication.

A Day in the Life

As an Environmental Field Technician - Stack, you’ll be responsible for collecting data and spending most of your time outdoors in a hard hat rather than in a cubicle. In simple terms, stack testing involves measuring what is coming out of an industrial exhaust stack to make sure emissions meet environmental regulations. This role offers a strong path toward long‑term career growth and advancement opportunities. Overtime opportunities can provide meaningful additional income. Competitive paid time off and comprehensive benefits package available. The compensation range for this role is $23.50 to $28.00 per hour. To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

• Follow established testing methods, procedures, and processes to help support consistent and reliable source testing
• Perform field source tests at customer locations with professionalism
• Record test data ensuring information on datasheets is complete and accurate
• Project preparation: glassware preparation, cleaning procedures, repair, calibration, and fabrication
• Set up monitoring equipment on a smokestack

• Flexibility is a must as the position may require weekend travel or work for a few projects during the year
• Transferable experience: laborer, construction, industrial maintenance, mechanical, laboratory, environmental, field science, etc.

• Ability to work in outdoor industrial settings, including climbing to and working on elevated platforms (50ft - 300ft) in accordance with OSHA/ANSI and other applicable safety standards
• Must be able to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting heavy materials up to 50 pounds
• Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
• Sitting, standing, and walking
