Job summary

LaBella Associates seeks an Environmental Field Technician for our Patchogue, Long Island, NY office to collect and compile environmental data across various project stages. Under supervision, you will sample soil, groundwater, and air/vapor; operate field equipment; and document data with organized field notes.

Ideal candidates have a 2–4 year degree in geology or environmental science and 3–5 years of related experience; training is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Two- to four-year degree preferred; geology or environmental science preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years in related environmental work preferred; training provided.
• Must be a team player with strong communication and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of groundwater, soil and air/vapor sampling and remedial systems is a plus.
• Health & Safety certification per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120; CPR/first aid; but will train the right candidate.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Full time field position; ability to work in all weather.
• Conduct environmental site assessments.
• Maintain and operate remedial systems.
• Perform groundwater sampling and operate field equipment.
• Assist with installation of remedial systems.
• Generate written notes and observations.
• Travel across Long Island, NYC and Lower Hudson Valley.
• Lift equipment and supplies as needed.
• Manage and submit field paperwork.
