Job summary
NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to support petroleum remediation projects under the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP). This is a hands-on, field-based role where you will work on sites impacted by petroleum, helping monitor and operate cleanup systems while collecting environmental samples.
This Environmental Technician can be based in Tampa or Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (Associates preferred)
- 1–3+ years of environmental field or construction experience
- Experience collecting environmental samples
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
Responsibilities
- Collect groundwater, soil, and soil vapor samples
- Measure water levels and record field data
- Operate and monitor remediation systems
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps and piping
- Document site conditions and daily activities
- Support project teams with site work and inspections
