Job summary

Water & Air Research, Inc. seeks a motivated Associate Engineer to join the Environmental Services team in Florida. This entry-level role develops technical expertise in petroleum-contaminated site assessment and remediation, working with Project Managers and senior staff.

The associate will assist with planning, field investigations, data analysis, and report preparation under FDEP PRP guidelines, while building practical experience and professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and organizational skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google Workspace.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel based on project needs.
• Experience with Florida PRP (preferred).
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER (preferred).
• Experience with groundwater and soil sampling (preferred).
• Experience with environmental data analysis and technical report preparation (preferred).
• Familiarity with PID/FID field equipment (preferred).
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and field activities (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with environmental assessment and remediation projects from planning through completion.
• Perform field work including groundwater, soil, and remediation system sampling.
• Oversee field activities including drilling, monitoring wells, remediation systems, and subcontractors.
• Prepare field documents, calibration records, and QA/QC documentation.
• Analyze environmental data and help evaluate site conditions and remediation options.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, database management, and organization.
• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, regulators, and project team members.
