Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Technician to support environmental projects in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico. This role requires the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel, and be on call as needed.

You will work in a team environment on diverse field activities across soil and groundwater sampling, notes, and safety oversight. Ideal candidates are motivated, with strong communication skills, and capable of handling field conditions and long days outdoors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • B.S. in Engineering, Geoscience or Environmental Science is desirable.
  • Experience in environmental consulting or related work is preferred.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Environmental Technician to provide support on various environmental projects in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico. This person will be responsible for a wide variety of environmental field activities. Candidate must be highly motivated; customer focused and work well in a team environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel, and be on call as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma Required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering, Geoscience or Environmental Science degree desirable.
  • Experience in environmental consulting or related experience preferred.
  • Applicants should be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Applicants should possess basic computer skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Computer Skills must include Microsoft Windows Word and Excel.
  • Ability to travel for field work primarily in southeastern New Mexico area and some overnight travel may be required. Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, wearing FRC clothing.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently walking and bending
  • Occasionally climbing
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
  • Extreme temperatures; cold and heat, outdoor work, variable weather conditions
Additional Information
  • Full-Time Position
  • Monday thru Friday Travel with the occasional weekends
  • Travel time required seventy-five percent (75%)
