Tetra Tech is seeking a full-time Engineer for our Albuquerque, NM office. The role involves supporting design and review of engineering documents, performing field work during remedial actions, and writing technical reports.

The position requires 1–6 years of experience, familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ability to travel up to 35% in the region. This is an on-site/hybrid role based in Albuquerque with a strong emphasis on field oversight and design support.

The Opportunity

Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time Engineer to work in our Albuquerque, NM office. This is not a remote position.

Position Summary

In support of the Response, Assessment, and Evaluation Services (RAES) program, the selected candidate will:

• Support design documents related to repositories and erosion control features. Participate in the review engineering designs and construction documents related to repositories and erosion control features.
• Conduct field work associated with construction oversight of CERCLA removal and remedial actions.
• Write technical reports including, but not limited to, engineering designs, data transmittals, engineering evaluation/cost analysis, remedial investigation/feasibility study, construction quality assurance plans, and construction completion reports.

Required Qualifications (Required)

• Degree: BS Engineering
• Years of Experience: 1 – 6 years
• Familiarity with environmental investigations that support design/construction of disposal cells, waste piles, evaporative covers/caps, erosion and water controls, stormwater routing and controls, road design, slope stabilization, or restoration techniques
• Experience or understanding of engineering design documents and specifications, reports and construction oversight including contractor report submittals
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Familiarity with land surveying

Preferred Qualifications

• Civil Engineering
• Experience with environmental remediation or mining and mine reclamation, interaction with regulatory agencies, CERCLA sites.
• Experience with construction or construction oversight
• Experience working with Principal Threat Waste (PTW)

Work Environment/Environmental Factors (Required)

• This position is primarily desk work, however, occasionally (35%) you will need to travel and perform fieldwork. The field work is in Arizona and New Mexico.

Physical Requirements (Required)

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made. A physical capacity for working outdoors, often in isolated remote areas is required. You must be able to:

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, both hot and cold
• Walk on uneven terrain
• Work packing heavy equipment and able to perform excavations using hand tools
• Carry field equipment (35 to 40 pounds)
• Don personal protective gear as needed
• You must be able to drive on a regular basis.
• Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.

Additional Information (Required)

• Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Overtime requirements: Overtime may be required during field work activities
• Night/weekend requirements: Periodic travel with overnight accommodations
• Work locations: In our Albuquerque office with a hybrid option
• Travel requirements: 35%
• This arrangement is subject to review and may change at the company’s discretion
