Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP seeks an Environmental team Intern in Mechanicsburg, PA to support Senior Project Environmental Scientists and Engineers across environmental design and compliance tasks.

The role covers NEPA documentation, socioeconomic analyses, wetlands, stream assessments, and habitat surveys. Strong communication, multitasking, and field readiness are required; coursework alignment is essential.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning or similar field
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time accordingly
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
• Willingness to take on new challenges and learn more while working on these challenges
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS software preferred

Responsibilities

• State and federal environmental documentation (including NEPA preparation)
• Socioeconomic analysis (including environmental justice)
• Wetland delineations
• Stream assessments
• Threatened and endangered species habitat evaluations and surveys
• Periodic travel (including overnight) may be required when assisting with field work
• Assist in conducting environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, evaluate and analyze terrestrial ecosystems including, but not limited to, riverine, wetland, and upland landscapes
