Job summary

Terracon is seeking an Environmental Scientist to conduct site investigations, sampling, and data analysis to support risk assessments and remediation designs in compliance with regulations. The role involves field testing, report writing, and developing proposals for clients.

You will supervise field staff on smaller projects and collaborate with senior scientists on larger ones, performing site visits, data collection, and coordination with regulatory agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field with at least 3 years of experience.
• Or 7+ years of related experience without a degree.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• Certification in field of expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and report issues to management.
• Demonstrate quality practices and acumen.
• Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
• Conduct site testing and make system design recommendations for small projects.
• May assist senior scientists/engineers on large projects.
• Perform site visits, field observations and data collection.
• Direct field staff to sample, test and document site activities.
• Develop written proposals for clients for senior approval.
• Evaluate laboratory and field data and assemble in reports.
• Participate in client meetings for specific projects/tasks.
• Oversee work by junior staff.
• Work under Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
