Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in environmental assessment, site investigations, or remediation.
  • Hands-on soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation oversight, subsurface investigations, environmental sample collection, and field documentation.
  • Phase I and Phase II ESA experience preferred.
  • HAZWOPER certification and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects including budget tracking and team oversight.
  • Supervise field sampling following Cameron‑Cole guidelines and plans.
  • Review lab reports for QA/QC compliance.
  • Design and perform site investigations compliant with federal and state regulations.
  • Prepare environmental reports and presentations with tables, charts and graphs.
  • Participate in proposal and budget creation process.
  • Supervise junior staff during field activities and project execution.
  • Ensure project management, regulatory compliance, and health & safety.

Environmental Field Project Manager

About this position

Cameron‑Cole, an ADEC Innovation, is seeking an Environmental Project Manager (Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist) (CG06–07) to join our team. With minimal direction and supervision, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong project management ownership combined with hands‑on experience in environmental site investigations, sampling, and regulatory compliance. This role will perform and oversee environmental field sampling activities, including the collection of surface and subsurface soil samples, ensuring sampling plans are accurately executed in accordance with Cameron‑Cole guidelines and procedures. Responsibilities also include data analysis, development of presentations, preparation of environmental reports and/or designs, and supervision of junior staff during field activities.

Compensation: $70,000 – $85,000 Annually

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in environmental assessment, site investigations, or remediation
  • Hands‑on experience with: Soil and groundwater sampling, Monitoring well installation oversight, Subsurface investigations, Environmental sample collection, and field documentation
  • Phase I and Phase II ESA experience preferred
  • Familiarity with remediation technologies, site characterization, and regulatory compliance a plus
  • HAZWOPER certification and valid driver’s license required

The employee will spend extended periods of time in front of a computer/laptop. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Completing field assignments requires the ability to walk over varied terrain and in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, while carrying equipment and materials. Additional physical requirements include bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods, lifting at least 15 pounds, performing repetitive motions using hand tools or field instruments, and walking or hiking several miles per day as required by project conditions.

Reporting

This position will report to the Principal Geologist and is a full‑time, exempt position from our Pensacola office.
