Job summary

State of North Carolina’s OSHR Temporary Solutions seeks an Environmental Specialist I (S) for temporary field and data work in Raleigh and across NC. You will collect field data, assist with GIS mapping, and coordinate land access with private landowners and public managers.

A bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or a related field is required, with willingness to travel up to 50% and carry field gear as needed. Waders and safety gear are provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in environmental science, wetlands, soils, data management or analysis.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel across NC for fieldwork.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to operate field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field data collection and site reconnaissance.
• Coordinate access with landowners and land managers.
• Manage project database and analyze data per EPA QA Plan.
• Support GIS mapping and NOAA C-CAP data activities.
