Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and global standards makes us a premier destination for top‑tier professionals looking to drive large‑scale industrial success.
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Environmental Field Coordinator (at Construction Site) to join our dynamic project control team for a major semiconductor foundry project in Taylor, Texas. This is a critical role responsible for environmental compliance and management activities at construction site located in Taylor, Texas. This role manages permit compliance (SWPPP, hydrotest water discharge, etc), spill prevention (SPCC), waste management, fugitive dust control, environmental incident response, and headquarters environmental reporting, while serving as the primary point of contact with the owner's environmental department on all site‑related environmental matters.
Key Responsibilities
1) Daily Field Environmental Monitoring (Core Role)
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs to observe and document field environmental conditions across all active construction zones
- Monitor GC and subcontractor compliance with site environmental controls including dust suppression (water truck routing and frequency), waste container (dumpster) placement and usage, portable sanitation facilities (porta-potties) condition and servicing, and concrete washout / wash bay usage
- Verify that concrete washout areas and wash bays are being used correctly — no unauthorized discharge onto grade, wash water contained within designated areas, and areas maintained in serviceable condition
- Identify and document non‑compliant conditions with photos and field notes; report findings to the Environmental Engineer on the same day
2) Corrective Action Follow‑Up (Core Role)
- Issue verbal and written corrective action notices to GC field superintendents and subcontractor foremen for identified environmental violations or non‑compliant practices
- Track open corrective action items to closure; conduct follow‑up field checks to verify that corrective measures have been implemented
- Escalate repeat or unresolved violations to the Environmental Engineer/Project Control Manager for formal notice issuance
3) BMP Condition Monitoring
- Inspect BMPs (silt fences, inlet protection, rock check dams, construction entrances) during routine walkthroughs; document condition, identify damage or failure, and notify the GC for repair or replacement
- Following rain events, conduct post‑storm field inspections to assess BMP performance and stormwater discharge conditions; document findings for SWPPP records
4) Sanitation & Waste Facility Oversight
- Monitor portable sanitation units for adequate quantity, proper placement relative to work areas, and regular servicing — report deficiencies to the Administration Manager and track resolution
- Monitor dumpster locations, fill levels, and waste segregation practices; flag improper disposal of construction debris, chemicals, or regulated materials to the Environmental Engineer/Manager.
- Verify that hazardous material and chemical storage areas on site are properly maintained, labeled, and secured in accordance with project environmental requirements
5) Field Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain a daily field observation checklist: areas inspected, conditions observed, non‑compliance identified, corrective actions issued, and status
- Take and organize field photos supporting all findings and corrective action records
- Provide daily field observation summary to the Environmental Engineer/Manager; support preparation of weekly compliance status reports as directed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Construction Technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of field experience on commercial or industrial construction sites — direct environmental monitoring or field inspection experience preferred
- Familiarity with common construction site environmental controls: BMPs, stormwater management, concrete washout, dust suppression, and waste management practices
- Physically able to conduct daily site walkthroughs across an active large‑scale construction site in outdoor conditions
- Basic computer skills for daily logging and photo documentation (MS Office, mobile field apps)
- Field communication with GC superintendents and subcontractor foremen is primarily in English
Key Notes /Requirements
- Active construction site field experience Required
- BMP / stormwater / concrete washout field familiarity Preferred
- Willingness to work outdoors daily in all weather conditions Required
