Clean Harbors in Caseyville, IL is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist CDL Driver (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with Federal/State/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures. This position works both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, customer sites, and involves assisting with lab packs within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections, and lab moves. This is a customer-facing position, working at customer sites daily.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety compliance by following all safe work practices and policies
- Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restriction notifications
- Inspect storage areas and drums for leaks, spills, and compliance with labeling regulations
- Collect, segregate, and package waste chemicals for disposal efficiently and in compliance
- Perform jobs at customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies
- Finalize project preparations and approvals before shipment per OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies
- Conduct projects according to site-specific regulations and safety plans
- Understand and adhere to customer-specific disposal and packaging requirements
- Sample and profile new waste streams or those requiring analytical testing
- Ensure drums are correctly counted and shippable according to company policies
- Follow all local, state, provincial, and federal regulations
- Operate vehicles safely in accordance with DOT and other requirements
- Observe all operational and environmental safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Driver's license
- Strong customer service skills
- Obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements within 6 months
- Ability to perform physical tasks as required
- Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical exam as applicable
- Meet facial hair standards per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.134
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in Chemistry or Natural Science
- Experience in Environmental Services such as remediation, abatement, or spill response
