Job description

Clean Harbors in Caseyville, IL is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist CDL Driver (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with Federal/State/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures. This position will work both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, customer sites and are responsible for assisting with lab packs within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections and lab moves. This is a customer facing position, working at customer sites daily.

Responsibilities include:

1. Ensure health and safety compliance and act in a safe manner
2. Prepare packing lists, labels, and manifests
3. Inspect storage areas and drums for leaks, spills, and compliance
4. Package waste chemicals properly for disposal
5. Perform work at customer locations including Fortune 500 companies
6. Ensure projects meet regulatory and safety standards
7. Sample waste streams for analysis as needed
8. Verify drum counts and conditions for shipping
9. Operate vehicles safely according to regulations
10. Follow all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
11. Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum requirements:

• Valid Driver's license
• Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with hazmat endorsement within 6 months
• Strong customer service skills
• Physical ability to perform job functions
• Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical
• Compliance with OSHA facial hair standards for respirator use
