Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern for the Arlington, Virginia office. This internship within our Federal Group will participate in a team to help execute a variety of Federal investigation/remediation projects with oversight from senior managers and technical experts.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline and must have completed at least three years of study.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to visit project sites and AECOM offices.

Responsibilities

• Site visits at military bases, industrial, and municipal clients.
• Data collection and analysis for environmental compliance, sustainability, and stormwater projects.
• Environmental sampling (e.g., stormwater, wastewater, hazardous waste).
• Development of technical memoranda and reports.
• Preparation of environmental reporting forms.
• Local travel is likely, with potential U.S. travel.
• Assist in engineering design under supervision of a senior engineer.
• Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and final working drawings under supervision.
• Use computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
